Forestry Commission Conservancy Office - Dumfries. 1989 Dim: 2450mm x 2130mm made up of six panels. My solution to this commission reflects my reaction to the environment of the forest with the extremes of light and shade experienced there, the multitude of vegetation through which the light can either pass or be reflected creating highlights and shadows. Also is included the vital element of water. I always respect the structure of the frame for a window and compose my design within thus making each panel a self contained entity which can stand alone. In this case the problem was to make the panels work together as a whole while combining the organic qualities of the subject with the formality of the frame.
All the traditional techniques are employed in the execution of this work.
